Teresa G. Meekins, DVM
I am originally from Baldwin, Nassau County, Long Island. I attended Southampton College for my undergraduate studies prior to veterinary school and then returned to the East End after graduating Ross Veterinary Medical School, located in St. Kitts in the West Indies. I have worked as an associate veterinarian at Shinnecock Animal Hospital in Hampton Bays for twelve years. I have been involved with the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation since the beginning in January 2010 and prior to that was heavily involved with The Southampton Town Animal Shelter both as a volunteer and veterinarian. Animals have long been a passion of mine. I treasure the work we do at the shelter. My goals for the shelter are to educate the public about the importance of spay and neuter, continue being ambassadors for our beloved pitbulls, and provide excellent care for our shelter residents. I reside in Hampton Bays with 4 dogs, 7 cats and 3 rabbits. My hobbies include hiking, going to the beach, horseback riding, and attending New York Islanders hockey games.
