Korky Lobo aka Veterok
Meet “Korky Lobo” our new family member.
We kept looking and my sister, Susan, found our baby at Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation, where she is a volunteer and fund raiser.
We went out Weds. 9/28 and I loved him right away. Sheba was shy at first but warmed up and finally showed that she was okay with him. As a young Siberian he just loved me and Sheba tons!! So sweet, playful and happy…..like you all said, “You will know when your dog meets you”
He is just great, not a Shepherd but perfect for us and so happy in his new home. Korky loves people especially kids, he just lights up when he sees one….must have lived with kids, but wound up unclaimed or looked for at the shelter. Sheba moved aside to let him jump into her SUV (fixed in back for dogs, H2O, blankets, toys) and she let him lay near her for the 100 mile + ride home. At the house, Sheba went in first and then let him come in…..no problems at all. Food time went well, he already knows the routine and his plates & place ….again no conflict… So I am glad to have kept on with the shelter/rescue route …thanks for all your encouragement and advice.
Also, the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation is the best animal facility I have ever seen. Clean, spacious, uncrowded dog/cat enclosures. Lots of healthy, happy cats and dogs that was amazing and beautiful. They could sell these cats & Dogs for a lot .Lots of purebreds like our Korky. They do a fantastic job and I wish you all could see it. Loads of play space and separate enclosures with a big dog playground and swim space too. No wonder the dogs were so happy and healthy. Peta would love the place & staff. I wish I lived closer so I could volunteer. I hope someday all you terrific animal lovers and helpers can meet ………to us you are all heroes.
Thanks again,
Dave & Sheba “The Senior Mom”
PS already they are so attached to each other….slept together on the couch near me on their first night
