Pet Of The Week!

Picture
The shelter currently has 5 rabbits for adoption. Rabbits can be a good alternative to a dog or cat as they require less space. This is our largest rabbit Honey Bunny.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation is to provide for the welfare of animals and reduce the number of homeless pets.

  • Postmaster General John E. Potter joined Ellen DeGeneres today on her television show to unveil images of the Animal Rescue: Adopt a Shelter Pet stamps, and to announce the Stamps to the Rescue promotional campaign.
  • USPS is working with DeGeneres and Halo, Purely for Pets, a company co-owned by DeGeneres, to raise awareness of the number of sheltered pets in this country.
  • Every year, 6 million to 8 million cats and dogs enter animal shelters and, of that number, nearly half are euthanized.
  • The Animal Rescue: Adopt a Shelter Pet stamps were photographed at an animal shelter in New Milford, Conn., by Sally Andersen-Bruce. Derry Noyes was the designer and art director. All the pets featured on the stamps were shelter pets that were rescued and adopted into loving homes.

  • Information will be posted on the Postal Service’s website at usps.com and a microsite specially created for this promotion:  stampstotherescue.com. The microsite has information about the stamps, the animals on the stamps and the importance of animal adoption. Customers can pre-order stamps and collectible products on these websites.
